Linux and Food

Today started with an excellent eggs-on-toast breakfast, followed by a stalled attempt to go to the market by a Movember problem... I love SLAs implicating me that I wasn't aware of.. especially when there's no compensation (yes, that's right)

Finally got to the market, it's been a while since we attacked Gleadall St. but it was worth it, better than ever. Looks like we have some excellent ingredients for a solid pasta tonight.

Hunting began just prior to lunch for a birthday present for my nephew at Chadstone, a voyage during which I finally stumbled upon Revelation Space by Alistair Reynolds. My reading situation has thus grown in complexity while I embark on tackling the rest of Spook Country and the two Reynolds novels.

It wasn't until early afternoon that I got around to shaving off all my facial hair for Movember. It's a scary thought for all, a scary feeling for me and an even scarier appearance for my lady to have to endure. Ironic that most other men have partners who fear their growing of a mo, and mine is aghast at me losing mine. I can't say I blame her.

The rest of the afternoon entailed watching Food Safari for Mexican inspiration (potential dinner tomorrow night), baking muffins, then watching several episodes of Jamie over at Bee's parents while they're away (we needed to feed the cat, and they just bought Foxtel. The Lifestyle Food channel is currently the only reason I'd ever consider it myself)

Would've been a nice day for sailing actually. I had to throw that in because reading back, it appears that my life revolves around Linux and food.

It's a good life.
